Understanding the Cottage Food Law

In October of 2015 Montana’s revised cottage food law went into effect after passage of House Bill 478 by the State legislature. The law established guidelines  for the production and sale of “non-potentially hazardous foods” such as baked goods, preserves and honey. Through this course individuals will gain knowledge of the Montana Cottage Food Law and the process necessary to complete the required application. Howard Recht, Deputy County Attorney

Contact the Bitterroot College at 375-0100 or email them at bc@umontana.edu. You can register by going to the Bitterroot College website at http://www.umt.edu/bitterroot-college/progcourse/default.php , click on Continuing Education, click on sign up and pay online and click on Register for Course next to your course choice. You can also choose to download the registration form and then mail to the Bitterroot College, 103 South 9th Street, Box 1, Hamilton 59840 or drop it by the College. For questions about course content, contact the RCEDA at 375-9416.

Deadline: Course fees and forms are due 3 days prior to class start date. Call to check course availability.

Refund Policy: Call 375-0100 for a refund. 100% refund if class is canceled; 100% refund if requested before the 1st class.
